Diary sub-note: 1843. Adelina Patti, singer, born

Played games (goal). Rained all morning. The Garth hunt came through the woods & we went to see them. Read a letter from Joy. Wrote to Joy. Couldn’t ride because I had been absent. It was lovely & sunny in the afternoon. Had a letter from Andy.
