Diary sub-note: 1546. Martin Luther, reformer, died

Had breakfast in bed. Came down after the 1st lesson at 10.50. Was not allowed to go out at all & so Marjory & I looked at pictured of “David” & the Queen. Lavender gave me a marvellous book called “Our Ambassador King”. Liz’s birthday. She is 15.

“David” refers to King Edward VIII, who was known by the royal family as David (one of his many middle names).
